Crime Prevention Guide

In a joint effort with the Wichita Police Department and Sedgwick  County   Sheriff’s Office the Commission arranged for printing and distribution of   30,000 booklets entitled “Crime Prevention Guide.”  The thirteen-page booklet compiled by law enforcement officers contains valuable crime prevention   information everyone should know.  The back cover list a wide range of important telephone numbers of city/county law enforcement and other department’s citizens may need to contact. The guide is provided by Commission members  Mike Steven Auto Group and Security Title.  Printing provided courtesy of Print Master.

More than 5000 Neighborhood Watch flyers have been provided to the Wichita Police Department Crime Prevention Unit to be handed out by officers attending neighborhood meetings.  The flyers contain important tips for citizens about how they can make their neighborhoods safer.  The pamphlet also has a current list of city and county phone numbers most often called by citizens.  The flyers were provided by the Commission with funds from the Willard Garvey Crime Prevention fund.

In partnership with Wichita/Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers, Wichita Police, Sedgwick County Sheriff, and Overhead Door Company, 5000 door hangers were printed and distributed to law enforcement officers to hang on doors when it is discovered garage doors are left open and/or property left where it is an easy target for theft.  The flyer also list eight important crime prevention tips as well as phone number to call for questions.
